Find Your Sweet Spot
Find Your Sweet Spot
For over 25 years, I've worked with leaders and teams to help them find the 'sweet spot' of where their talents intersect with business needs. I've helped leaders tackle the angst of change and achieve their personal and organizational visions. In the process, I've learned it's easier to succeed when people are getting along. It sounds so simple - leaders talking honestly about what matters to them, sharing their talents, dreams, and frustrations. I've seen it a thousand times. Visions come alive when people connect. It's always greater trust and teamwork that unravels the knots of conflicts and motivates right action.
Pent up frustrations melt away as individuals discover common ground and use their collective talents to achieve results.
Play Big
But so what? Today as a leader, you're facingchallenges that are bigger than you alone can solve. The best solutions require more than fixing your piece of the pie. To succeed you must bring more of you to the table - more energy, more commitment, and more courage. Winning means playing big. Nothing else will make a dent in the changes needed.
Dive In
Whether you're leading health care, high tech, or a service industry- the time is ripe to tackle the tough stuff. Making progress requires listening to every voice, building trust, and leveraging everyone's collective talents.
Get Started
To get started, pick a project thattakes your breath away. Don't rush. Simply ask the question, 'What's my lofty goal?' As your idea starts to percolate, put words to it. Name it. Say it out loud. Plant the idea firmly in your mind. Water it with action and inspiration. Share it with a few trusted friends.
Take Action
Don't allow the idea to marinate and go sour! Take actions to bring your vision to life. Find allies who are in love with your vision. They're out there. Share your enthusiasm. Use your talents to make things happen. Surround yourself with others who can fill in the gaps.
Resolve Conflicts
When conflicts arise, keep your goal top of mind. Focus on what's needed instead of who's right or wrong. Don't sweat the small stuff. Get over resentments and what could have been. Keep moving. Do what's right and stay connected. Make mistakes. You will recover.
Once you start, keep moving.Soon you'll feel renewed vigor and a bounce in your step.
